THE DOLL
Features:
Her features have been carefully painted with artist-quality acrylics
and the tiniest of paintbrushes after all original paint was completely
removed. She has been given eyes in shades of brown, green, gold,
and sienna with highlights. Her original eyebrows were removed and
have been repainted with tiny brushstrokes in different shades to
match her hair. Her lips have been repainted in natural colors with
slight shading. She was incredibly difficult to photograph, but
I tried to capture her features! The original Cora has very dark,
almost black eyes, and I enjoyed giving her eyes more definition.
Hair:
Her hair is a curly wig, with six braids. Her original hair is still
intact and is underneath her wig, held in place with a hair net.
It's quite lovely hair, but I love the look of Cora with long hair
instead of short!
Outfit:
She wears a commercially-made outfit consiting of a vest, skirt,
and white t-shirt. The vest and skirt used to be bright yellow,
but I never could find a doll that looked good in that color, so
I dyed it a light green (which in real life looks a little less
"chartreuse" than my photos look to me!). And she wears
commercially-made shoes.
And...
her ears are pierced! She's wearing glass earrings that I made to
match her outfit.
She
comes with her right foot signed by me, and a personalized and signed
hang-tag.
Formerly:
Danuwa spent her former life as a dark Cora (the one with
the pink striped dress). She's in very nice shape, although her
brown leg elastic was snapped and I restrung her. She has a very
odd red stain on her back, which I am treating, but I don't know
if it will come out. I can send photos on request. She may have
been a factory second, as she came to me from the daughter of a
Sasha dealer. She came to me in her box, and I believe she spent
most of her life in it until now. Other than that, she is in very
nice shape, and still retains her Sasha tag. She has no odors.
Danuwa
is in a private collection.
